Supporting Safety and Well-Being at CU Denver

Who We Are

In addition to supporting students, we're are also available to consult with faculty, staff, parents, and concerned others any time they are worried about a student's behavior. To contact a case manager, please call 303-315-7306.

About Us

The Office of Case Management was established to better serve the needs of the campus community and struggling students. Case management services include, but are not limited to, providing intervention, advocacy, resources and referrals, as well as follow-up services for students who are experiencing significant difficulties. Case managers support students struggling to navigate the university system, students with current and emerging mental or physical health issues, and students experiencing issues adjusting to academic and social life.

Case Managers coordinate student services and provide referrals to the appropriate resources on campus such as the Office of Community Standards and Wellness, Office of the Registrar, Student and Community Counseling Center, Office of Financial Aid, Disability Resources and Services, Student Mental Health Services, and student advocacy offices.

Mission

The Office of Case Management fosters student growth, development, and success. We assist students dealing with areas related to mental health, emotional well-being, and safety by providing outreach, resources, referrals, advocacy, and follow up services.

Case Managers collaborate and consult with students, parents, faculty, staff, and other campus resources to best address the diverse needs of each student.

Vision

The Office of Case Management values providing caring, compassionate, and supportive services to students. Our office adheres to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics when serving the campus population.

Medical Withdrawal

We review all requests for medical withdrawals for CU Denver students in order to assist them in their ability to be academically successful.

Students diagnosed with either physical or psychological medical conditions that significantly impact their safety or ability to be academically successful are eligible to petition for a medical withdrawal. Due to the Medical Withdrawal Policy, students will be withdrawn from all classes enrolled for the applied semester; partial withdrawals are not permitted. Students seeking to withdraw for non-medical reasons will need to review the withdrawal policies and procedures for their respective school or college.

All required documentation from this page must be attached to the medical withdrawal form to receive full consideration. Questions about medical withdrawals can be directed to the Office of Case Management staff at 303-315-7312.
