MFA for Microsoft 365 Reminders
Jul 28, 2020Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Microsoft 365 went live following the completion of spring classes. As a reminder, all students, faculty and staff must use Duo Security for MFA to access Microsoft 365 applications including your university email. Visit OIT’s CU Secure and MFA webpage for additional information, helpful documentation and updates.
- OIT highly recommends installing the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone and selecting the Duo Push option for authenticating – it is the easiest method to use! Your personal protected data and password are not accessed by Duo; and, this second factor of authentication is separate from your username and password. More information about MFA and Duo privacy is available on our frequently asked questions page.
- Be sure you are using an updated version of Outlook (2019 and above) as well as updated operating systems and browsers. A list of recommended devices and requirements for each are locate on our CU Secure / MFA page – scroll down to step #3 – check for supported devices and operating systems.
- Access your email using the desktop or phone Microsoft Outlook application so that you will not have to authenticate with Duo again for about 90 days.
