About the OIT website
Jan 3, 2020Did you know you can reset your password without calling the service desk for help? Reset My Password is one of the most popular searches on the OIT website. Faculty, staff and students can easily change passwords using one of several options including text message, email or by answering challenge questions. (The recommended method to reset your password is to click on the first option: “Reset by text message or email.”)
In addition to the Get Help information, the heart of the webpages – those places most visited – are the Services and Software tabs. These pages include a fully searchable software list of university site licenses as well as applications that can be purchased at a free or discounted rate. As we move to multi-factor authentication with the Microsoft Office 365 applications we use every day at the university, please be sure to visit https://office.com to learn about all the tools that are available to you including Outlook for your university email. You can sign-in to Microsoft using your university email address and password for access to those O365 tools.
Website changes to come
Service delivery is a top priority for the OIT team and we want to understand how users interact with the website so that our team can make changes to enhance the functionality and content of the site. We gathered feedback from the university community as we moved our site from SharePoint to the new content management system, Sitefinity. It’s time for a revised card sort activity to identify service categories and what service requests belong in each category. We’d love your input – to participate in the OIT information architecture study, go to: https://w7861417.optimalworkshop.com/optimalsort/mge3e3i5. You will be directed to a short activity that takes about 10 minutes to complete. We always hope that both the content and design feel appropriate and seamless for each person visiting OIT pages and with input, we can make changes for better navigating the website. The study will be open until Friday, February 7.
