Technology Billing Rate Reductions and New Billing System
Aug 12, 2021OIT’s Finance and Administration team manages the central billing for the information technology services provided for a fee to university department billing accounts. Working with several technology service owners, the team was able to reduce costs for several business services including:
- Virtual Server billing rates were reduced to $45 per month
- Additional storage and backup storage rates after the initial 100GB were reduced to $0.05 per gigabyte per month
- Paging services decreased as well; for example, a numeric pager is now $4.70 per month
- As a reminder, because of the increase in university faculty and staff using the Isilon data storage service, a flat pricing model of 0.025 per gigabyte per month is available
- Visit the OIT website for more information about server and storage services and the billing and rates webpage for OIT services and fees
About the PCR-360 billing project implementation
Additionally, the OIT billing process project team continues planning for the transition of IT expenses from Pinnacle to PCR-360, the new billing and telecom expense management platform. To date:
- The migration of data and configuration of the new system is almost complete
- Work has begun to integrate authentication, billing system information, and data from CU enterprise systems
- The project team has been reaching out to constituents using the billing system for feedback via listening tours and surveys to gain a better understanding of current experiences with the process and to identify gaps that should be addressed with the new system
To participate in the review of the new billing system during the implementation phase or for any specific questions or concerns you have, please email the billing team at ucd-oit.billing@ucdenver.edu.
