Below is a list of basic computer system requirements to take CU Online courses through Canvas, our learning management system that delivers your course materials via your device. It is always recommended to use the most up-to-date versions and best connections available. Canvas will still run with the minimum specifications seen below, but you may experience slower loading times.
Canvas is best viewed at a minimum of 800x600, which is the average size of a notebook computer.
Many online courses require the use of a camera and microphone (for video conferences, discussion posts, etc.). Therefore, make sure you have both of these items readily available on your laptop, PC, or mobile device.
You will need Flash Player in order to record video; therefore it is recommended that you install this software. Google Chrome already has Flash Player installed and updates the software automatically, when necessary. If you use a different browser other than Chrome, you can visit the Adobe site for downloading instructions.
