All employees are required to complete the Nondiscrimination, Sexual Misconduct, and Reporting training administered by the OE in their first 90 days of employment and then every three years.
This self-paced, online course is a recurring requirement for employees and affiliates of the University of Colorado. It covers policies on sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, stalking, protected-class discrimination and harassment, conflicts of interest in amorous relationships, and related retaliation. These policies ensure that everyone receives fair and equitable treatment in their work and academic environments. This course also covers information about reasonable accommodations, effective bystander strategies, and resources.
The Office of Equity (OE) administers the course and compliance for all employees at CU Denver and CU Anschutz—including faculty, staff, student employees—who are required to complete the employee training. All new employees must complete this training within the first 90 days of employment, and current employees must retake this training every three years.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
This course is available online via Skillsoft Percipio. it will take approximately 45-90 minutes to complete and is followed by a quiz. You must get a score of 90% or higher to get credit for taking this course.
You are able to track your training completion status and/or the training completion status of your department staff (if you are a supervisor), via a training summary.
A training summary is a record of all trainings you have completed thus far, via Skillsoft Percipio. Training listed in an employee’s training summary is what the OE will reference to ensure all employees are complying with the new training requirement.

QUESTION: What is the purpose of the course?
ANSWER: To protect our community, the university addresses unwelcome behaviors with any student, employee, volunteer, or affiliate and provides education to prevent misconduct. It is important to understand your rights and responsibilities, and what behaviors are prohibited to create a safe and nondiscriminatory place to work, learn, and live.
You play an important role in making CU a more welcoming and productive place for everyone.
QUESTION: Who Must Complete the Training? How do I know if I’m required to take the training?
ANSWER: All employees, volunteers, and affiliates must complete the course titled CU: Nondiscrimination, Sexual Misconduct, and Reporting- u00283. New hires within 90 days; all others every three years. Only student employees with a university appointment are required to complete the Percipio course. General students are not required to complete this training.
For compliance purposes, the University requires employees to take a variety of online courses. Check with your supervisor to confirm which courses are required for your position or assistance in tracking compliance status. During your tenure at the university, you will be required to retake some of the courses after the compliance period has expired.
QUESTION: I already took the course this year, or within the last three years. Can this course be removed?
ANSWER: In collaboration with several partners, the required training course, CU: Nondiscrimination, Sexual Misconduct, and Reporting- u00283, was updated in July 2025. Completion of the previous, campus-specific course does not exempt an employee from the updated, system-wide course.
The OE offered a 90-day grace period for all employees who completed the previous course or completed the new course. If you completed the training prior to July 23, 2025, you were assigned the new course. This new, system-wide course has updated information for employees, so any employee out of compliance was assigned to the new course on October 21, 2025.
QUESTION: How do I track my completion status?
ANSWER: Log in to your UCDAccess Portal, navigate to “CU Resources” > “Training” > “Training Summary.” Supervisors can view department-wide summaries.
QUESTION: What if I have trouble accessing the course?
ANSWER: Log into your employee portal at my.cu.edu. Click the Training tile in CU Resources.
Click the Skillsoft Percipio tile and search for the course CU: Nondiscrimination, Sexual Misconduct, and Reporting- u00283.
If you cannot access the portal, contact your IT department.
QUESTION: What if I have trouble completing the course?
ANSWER: Clear your browser cache, open a new page, and launch Skillsoft Percipio. Search for the course and launch from the Library or search box (not transcripts).
Click “Restart” at the bottom of the course window (not “Resume”). Click “Next” until you reach the slide where you experienced an issue.
QUESTION: What if I have completed a similar course for UC Health, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, or another healthcare provider?
As an institution of higher learning, employees of CU Anschutz may be required to follow different policies and procedures when addressing sexual misconduct or protected class discrimination than employees of our healthcare partners. Our Sexual Misconduct and Protected Class Nondiscrimination training is tailored to our community and is currently non-reciprocal with any course of a similar nature offered by UC Health, Children's Hospital of Colorado, or any other entity. It is expected that employees of CU Anschutz follow the rules and policies of the University and/or any of partners when applicable.
