National College Health Assessment 

All University of Colorado Denver degree-seeking students received the NCHA assessment in their university email inbox. The assessment can be completed between April 11 - April 29.

What is the NCHA?

The American College Health Association administers the National College Health Assessment (NCHA), which is a nationally recognized research assessment that assists in collecting precise data about students’ health habits, behaviors, and perceptions.

The assessment covers the following topics:

  • Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use
  • Sexual health
  • Weight, nutrition, and exercise
  • Mental health
  • Personal safety and violence

Go to your university affiliated email, search for a message from ncha.web@acha.org (sent on April 11), complete the assessment, and you will be automatically entered to win the following prizes

The ACHA-NCHA is a survey designed to assess student health behaviors in order to provide better services and support for University of Colorado students. You will assist in providing accurate information regarding health/wellness behaviors at CU Denver.

You may not have been selected to take the assessment, only declared, degree-seeking students were sent the link.

The assessment can only be accessed through your university affiliated email


20-30 minutes

If you can’t finish in one sitting, the assessment is persistent, you can start, stop and return to it at a later time

The assessment opened on April 11 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on April 29

You may answer only some questions, or you may choose not to participate in the assessment at all

Prizes will be awarded, all students who submit a survey will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win Amazon and Starbucks gift cards.

To assist university leadership in making decisions related to programs, services and amenities on campus related to student well-being

Your participation is completely voluntary and confidential. To ensure confidentiality, e-mail addresses are destroyed by ACHA before data are compiled and shared with CU Denver administrators. The raw data file that is shared with CU Denver will not contain any unique identifiers. Any reports or publications based on this research will use only group data and will not identify you or any individual as being affiliated with this project.
