The fall 2022 semester is around the corner—and there is much to celebrate. We are hosting our biggest “CU Denver Welcome” in years with in-person signature activities to boost Lynx pride and get our community members acquainted with our campus and the vibrant city we call home. Whether you’re returning to campus or coming for the first time, we encourage you to participate in our welcome events.

If you're a student, don’t forget to check out CU Denver's  list of welcome back activities for first-year, transfer, and returning students.

New Student Convocation (Aug. 19)

Just as graduation commemorates the end of a student’s university experience, New Student Convocation marks the beginning of a student’s journey at CU Denver. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the ceremony to show support for our new students.

First Day of Classes (Aug. 22)

The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 22! Please be sure to come to campus to welcome our students back. All of our campus community members are encouraged to wear Lynx attire for the first week of the fall semester.

Block Party (Aug. 24)

The Block Party on Wednesday, Aug. 24, is open to all Lynx and community members. This year’s special edition of the annual Block Party will serve as the kick-off for CU Denver’s 50th anniversary, which we will honor with a series of special events, learning opportunities, and the setting of new traditions. To celebrate our university’s anniversary, this year’s Block Party theme will be “Through the Decades.” Dust off your best track suit from the 70s or a bomber jacket and fanny pack from the 90s and join the fun!
