
Jen St. Peter serves as Vice Chancellor for Finance, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), where she leads the university’s financial planning, budgeting, and fiscal operations, as well as provides oversight for the maintenance and development of the physical plant. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in public sector finance, with expertise in higher education budgeting, financial modeling, and long-range strategic planning.
Prior to this role, she served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Budget and Fiscal Planning at CU Denver, overseeing the university’s all funds operating budget. She led multi-year financial planning efforts, guided campus-wide budget strategies, and played a key role in redesigning the university’s budget model to enhance transparency and alignment with institutional priorities. She has extensive experience partnering with leaders across CU Denver, CU Anschutz, the CU system, and Auraria campus entities to support shared services and strategic initiatives.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing, directing financial and policy analysis for large-scale public programs, and at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment as a lead economist.
A Colorado native and first-generation college graduate, she earned both her M.A. in Economics and B.S. in Applied Mathematics from CU Denver.
