Additional Holidays in 2025—Thanksgiving, Winter Break
Nov 6, 2025Dear faculty and staff,
As we head into the busy holiday season and get ready for December commencement, I want to share some good news that came out of the governor’s office earlier this week.
CU Denver will be closed as an administrative day on Friday, Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving. The Auraria Campus will also be closed, which includes Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC), Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver.
Looking ahead, we will also be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 2, 2026, for winter break. We’ll be sharing information directly with our students about fall and winter breaks.
All of you work tirelessly to help our students and support our communities. I encourage you to take the extra days to relax, reflect, and recharge, whether that’s with family and friends or on a personal getaway. I am incredibly grateful for your hard work and know that what we continue to accomplish together is only possible because of your commitment to CU Denver.
We are announcing these dates early to help those of you who may be making travel plans during the holiday season. Essential personnel must speak with their supervisors before making plans to ensure there is coverage during the holiday period.
Thank you again for all you do for our students and each other. Happy holidays!
Ann Sherman
Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration
