| 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM

** Note: This session will now take place on Zoom:

https://ucdenver.zoom.us/s/6965759818 **

In this session, Karen Sobel (Director, CFDA) and Rachel Gross (Faculty Fellow, Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning) will cover how and why you can use teaching observations as a tool to build your practice. Topics covered will include:

  • Why we have teaching observations
  • Who can perform teaching observations & how to request them
  • Planning in advance to maximize the value of your observations
  • The pros and cons of having a department colleague versus CETL or another “outside” group
  • How to use the feedback you receive to grow
  • Handling your emotions after you receive feedback (how do I deal with comments that sting?)
  • Building upon your strengths in your teaching
  • How to touch on feedback in dossier teaching statements (we’ll have another session that covers this in detail)

Bring your questions, too!
