The CFDA's Professional Development Grant for IRC Faculty provides professional development support to all Instructional, Research and Clinical Teaching Track Faculty (formally referred as non-tenure-track) at the University of Colorado Denver (Denver Campus). This includes Lecturers, Instructors, Senior Instructors, and Clinical Teaching Track Faculty.
The IRC-PDG is funded by the Office of the Provost and administered by the CFDA in collaboration with UCDALI. The total amount of available funding per academic year is $20,000 without considering department matches. Half of this amount is earmarked for lecturers. The other half is allocated to Instructors, Senior Instructors and CTT Faculty. A detailed description of the grants may be viewed here: IRC PD Funds Description and Funding AY 23-24
Faculty Applicants: IRC faculty may apply for professional development funds of up to $1,000 for activities or materials that support any aspect of the duties outlined in their current contract or letter of offer. Individual applicants may receive funding only once per academic year. Funded activities and materials might include but are not limited to the following:
Doctoral Student Applicants: Doctoral students who are teaching classes may apply for this grant. However, funding must be directed at activities that enhance pedagogical practices in the classroom. Grants for the professional development of students are made available by the Office of Graduate Education.
Administrative Applicants: Administrators may apply for IRC professional development funds of up to $1,000 for activities or materials that support the development and advancement of IRC faculty in their unit, school or college. Administrative applicants may receive funding only once per academic year, and MUST provide matching funds from their unit, school or college. Applications for CFDA IRC PD Funds must include the following:
Recipients must submit a report (max 300 words) to the CFDA within one month of the conclusion of their funded project (no later than June 30th) describing the use of funds, the outcomes achieved, and a final itemized budget.
