Programs

The CFDA offers a variety of programs that serve the diverse needs of our faculty. Our programing covers topics from tenure success to planning your time as a researcher to bringing your research into the classroom. We deliver our offerings in a variety of formats. At the present time, most will take place via Zoom.  Check out our list of activities below - some that can give you a professional development boost for as little as 20 minutes - and choose one that is right for you.

Keep Your Research Rolling - New!

During the current global pandemic, all of our lives have turned upside down. Many CU Denver faculty members have shared their worries about how to accomplish scholarly work right now. Campus access is limited, shifting classes online takes much of our energy, and many of us have family commitments.

The CFDA’s “Keep Your Research Rolling” series, hosted by CU Denver faculty, highlights ideas for keeping your scholarly work productive during these times. From developing a weekly writing practice to visualizing your data in new ways to finally writing that book proposal. Keep Your Research Rolling will help you stay active as a scholar.

Writing Retreats

Get your writing back on track with our Writing Retreats. Faculty are able to meet with other faculty members, learn from one of our faculty fellows, and will have the opportunity to learn strategies to maximize their writing time and effort.

Our Writing Retreats are more than just writing, they are an engaging session with faculty who are interested in improving their writing skills, and taking the time to get it done. Gain useful tips and apply them "write away".

Faculty love these retreats and typically attend multiple retreats in the year. If you're interested, check out our upcoming programs on our Homepage and register before they fill up!

Communities of Practice - New!
The CFDA will offer several new Communities of Practice during the 2020-21 Academic Year. Communities of Practice allow faculty members to explore specific interests in depth. Members often form long-lasting bonds and collaborations based on shared interests. Explore our current Communities of Practice now.

Stay tuned for more options throughout the year!

First-Year Faculty Experience

The first year as a new faculty at any university can be both challenging and overwhelming. The First Year Faculty Experience (FYFE) is a program intended to provide additional support and development opportunities for new faculty at CU Denver in order to make the transition much more comfortable. We’d love for you to join our Center for Faculty Development FYFE group.
