Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Sep 25, 2025The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5000 to undergraduates with financial need to study or intern abroad in non-traditional destinations. An additional $3000 is available for critical needs language study. Deadlines: October and March.
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizen
- Undergraduate in good standing at accredited U.S. institution
- Pell Grant recipient (current or during program)
- Program length: 2+ weeks (community college) or 3+ weeks (4-year institutions)
- Program in Travel Advisory Level 1–2 country
- Only one Gilman award allowed per student
