We’re pleased to share the latest updates and improvements to our shared content management system, Sitefinity. These changes support our ongoing efforts to enhance site functionality, accessibility, and user experience.
Enhancements to existing functionality
- Search & Filter Widget - "Read More" functionality for long descriptions
- A new enhancement has been added to the Search and Filter widget that automatically shortens long item descriptions and displays a "Read More" link to expand and show the full text. This helps keep search results more compact and improves readability, especially when descriptions are lengthy.

- How to Enable this functionality:
- Open the Search and Filter widget configuration panel.
- Navigate to Widget Properties -> Filter.
- Enable the new checkbox labeled "use "Read more" to shorten long descriptions"
- Save and publish the page.
- Once enabled, the widget will automatically:
- Show a shortened preview of long descriptions
- Display a "Read More" link
- Expand and collapse text, as needed
