The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced an extension of the flexibility in complying with requirements related to Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification until July 31, 2023.

HR business partners must review documents and complete Section 2 of the I-9 per the guidance below.

• HR business partners must inspect the Section 2 documents remotely (e.g., over video link, fax or email, etc.) and obtain, inspect, and retain copies of the documents, within three business days for purposes of completing Section 2. Employees who physically report to work on location on any regular, consistent, or predictable basis should complete Section 2 in person.
• HR business partners should enter “COVID-19” as the reason for the physical inspection delay in the Section 2 Additional Information field.
• Documents that are remotely inspected will have to be physically inspected in person when the office opens for business.
• Once the documents have been physically inspected, the HR business partner should add the note “documents physically examined” with the date of inspection to the Section 2 Additional Information field on the Form I-9, or to section 3, as appropriate.

Step 1: Complete Required Training

Individuals requesting access are required to take the following trainings in Skillsoft.

Please note that it takes up to 24 hours for completed trainings to show in the training record. It is recommended to wait at least a day after completing the required trainings before submitting the access request.

• F00001 - Fiscal Code of Ethics
• U00063 - CU: Information Security and Privacy Awareness
• U00072 - CU: Form I-9

Step 2: Notify the Central HR I-9 Office

Once both trainings are completed contact hr.i-9@cuanschutz.edu or hr.i-9@ucdenver.edu to notify HR you are requesting access through CU Identity Manager (OIM).

Step 3: Submit the HireRight I-9/E-Verify Access Request

Log into CU Identity Manager and request the "HIRERIGHT : CU I-9 E-Verify HireRight User" role. In the Make Request page search for "HIRERIGHT". This request will have to be approved by your direct supervisor and then by the campus HCM access coordinator.

To access HireRight I-9/E-Verify:

1. Log into the UCD Access Portal.
2. Click “Business Tools” from the drop down menu on the top left.
3. Click on “I-9/E-Verify HireRight.”
