How do I stay safe on campus?

The Auraria Higher Education Center has produced a number of videos about safety on campus. Also, the Auraria Police Department has a number of resources and tips related to safety on campus.

There is a night shuttle and motorist assistance available on campus.

The Auraria Campus is equipped with emergency telephone call stations. Each emergency phone is equipped with a call button that immediately connects to Auraria Campus Police Dispatch. Outdoor phones are located in parking lots and pedestrian areas—they are red and stand approximately 9 feet high. Indoor emergency phones are located throughout the main buildings in common areas.

Where do I go if I have a complaint?

To report sexual harassment, misconduct, or discrimination, contact the Office of Equity.

For other university-related concerns, contact the Ombuds Office.

Where is the LGBT Student Resource Center?

The LGBT Student Resource Center is located in Tivoli Student Union, Room 213. The phone number is (303) 556-6333.

Where are the gender-inclusive restrooms on the Auraria Campus?

Is gender-affirming surgery covered in faculty insurance and/or in student insurance?

In faculty insurance, the medical insurance plans administered by Anthem (Exclusive, Extended, and High Deductible) cover gender-affirming surgeries according to Anthem’s medical policies and guidelines. Please check each plan’s “Benefits Booklet” for more information.

For students, the university no longer offers its own optional health insurance coverage. Students should visit the official Colorado health insurance exchange to explore health insurance options.

Where do I find health insurance information?

The Employee Services website for health insurance contains enrollment information, insurance options and policy information, university policies, and forms for verifying a dependent.
