Announcing the Chancellor's AI Advisory Committee Members
May 7, 2026Dear Lynx community,
With the recent launch of the CU-specific version of ChatGPT Edu now available for employees, and the planned roll-out to students in August, the draft system-level Administrative Policy Statement (APS) on AI calls for each University of Colorado chancellor to form a campus-specific AI advisory committee.
Today, I am pleased to announce the establishment and membership of the CU Denver AI Advisory Committee which will report jointly to Provost Karen Marrongelle and me. Members, who will serve through the end of the 2026-27 academic year, were nominated and selected in partnership with faculty shared governance (Faculty Assembly and UCDALI), Staff Council, the Student Government Association, and leaders across academic and administrative domains. The committee includes nine representatives, three from each shared governance constituency, who will serve alongside our existing AI Faculty Fellows and select members of university leadership.

Each campus advisory committee will meet regularly to assess AI-related opportunities and risks, share emerging best practices, and support coordination, guidance, and oversight related to AI use on campus, consistent with the APS and campus governance practices. Members of this campus advisory committee may be selected to also serve on the systemwide AI advisory committee.
The work of this advisory committee carries real significance for the future of CU Denver. I am grateful to each member for their willingness to serve. I thank them in advance for their advice and counsel to help guide our university through this moment with intentionality and a clear focus on what is best for our learners and employees.
