In today’s classrooms, teachers are moving away from being the main source of delivering instruction and moving towards more of a facilitator role. However, many students are struggling with this new model of learning due to skill gaps in executive functioning. Once we fill the gaps, they are ready to succeed and become owners of their learning.

Conference for Assistive Technology in Education 2026 (CATE)

The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering (CIDE) and the Colorado Department of Education are proud to announce dates for the 2026 Conference for Assistive Technology and Education (CATE). This 2-day virtual conference features sessions with nationally-renowned trainers addressing a wide variety of assistive technology topics related to the academic support needs of students with disabilities. 

In the field of assistive technology, one of the most effective ways of advancing our knowledge is by sharing information. Come share your special skills!

CIDE is currently accepting presentation proposals for the CATE 2026. The conference focus is on local, state, and national perspectives and best practices to support the achievement of students with disabilities through the effective application of assistive technology devices and services. All accepted presentations will relate to the provision of AT devices and services for children birth-21. Priority will be given to presentations that are interactive and connect to the evidence base.  

Vendors are invited to present 30-minute Vendor Lunch n' Learn sessions. Space will be limited!
