Dear CIDE Community,

As summer draws to a close, I’m reminded of how innovation with a human centered focus continues to guide our work at CIDE. This season, we’ve advanced projects like SMILE-i, exploring immersive interaction to support older adults with cognitive impairments, and we’ve launched our new on-demand accessibility training, giving people flexible ways to build accessible design skills.

We’ve also expanded opportunities to connect with assistive technology — from the Colorado Assistive Technology Exchange, which helps used devices find new homes, to preparations for the Colorado Assistive Technology Expo on September 26, where we’ll showcase the latest tools that make daily life easier. In addition, our redesigned AT Funding Sources site now connects Coloradans to over 2,500 funding organizations, simplifying the search for financial support.

Finally, we encourage our community to engage in emergency preparedness efforts, ensuring that the lived experience of people are central to planning.
