The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver has been named to the 2026 Forbes Accessibility 200 — a list recognizing the top global innovators and impact-makers advancing accessibility across education, technology, mobility, communication, and more.
The Forbes Accessibility 200 was compiled with the assistance of a 12-member expert advisory board representing 23 countries across six continents. CIDE joins a distinguished cohort that includes Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Nike, Salesforce, and Airbnb.
Accessibility has evolved from a legal mandate to a bustling frontier of innovation, impact and profit. It's now beyond 'the right thing to do.' It's integral to a smart business. — Alan Schwarz, Forbes Assistant Managing Editor
For CIDE, the recognition reflects decades of work at the intersection of clinical expertise, assistive technology, and inclusive design. The center's programs span free community resources through the Colorado Assistive Technology Act Program, accessibility auditing and WCAG compliance services for organizations, K–12 and early childhood AT support, and research aimed at improving the lives of people with disabilities across Colorado and beyond.
This recognition belongs to the people who have made it possible — our clients, community partners, research participants, and the CIDE team whose expertise and dedication drives this work every day.
