This program is an accelerated path to an MA. It is designed to allow CU Denver students to complete both an undergraduate degree in Education and Human Development and a master’s degree in as little as five years.
CU Denver’s Bachelor of Arts to Master of Arts (BAMA) in Education and Human Development is an expedient option designed to allow CU Denver students to complete both an undergraduate degree in Education and Human Development and a master’s degree in as little as five years.
The program starts with our high-quality BA program where students pursue an elementary, early childhood, or special education teaching license. During an undergraduate’s senior year, BA to MA students develop a plan with their advisor to take graduate courses within their designated plan.
You will save money by completing graduate credits at the undergraduate tuition rate during your senior year which will count toward your BA and your MA degree credit hours.
The MA options include concentrations in:
You will learn from nationally and internationally recognized faculty members who are known for innovation and research. They will prepare you for success in any classroom anywhere. We are ranked as a top school according to U.S. News and World Report.
Choose CU Denver's School of Education & Human Development
The School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver attracts students who are passionate about careers in teaching and school leadership. We match their passion with an education that is rooted in diversity, technology, proven approaches, and real-world practice. That’s why our graduates are prepared to make immediate and life-long impacts on people, communities, and the world.
Advance your career quickly. The typical two-to-three-year period that is required to earn a master’s degree may be decreased to as little as one year from the date a student receives a bachelor’s degree. Pursuing an MA early in your career will allow you to deepen your expertise, advance your career goals and position you for leadership in your field.
You will save money by completing nine graduate credits at the undergraduate tuition rate during your senior year which will double count toward your BA and your MA degree credit hours. You will already have nine credits in a 30*credit master’s program, so you do not pay MA tuition costs for nine credits (three courses).
Lead in your field with a social justice lens. The BAMA provides graduates with the skills to teach in a social justice framework, work with diverse learners, and engage in high-quality instruction and assessment.
CU Denver offers generous scholarships and vast learning and development opportunities to support teachers.
Our flexible program accepts students every term (fall, spring, summer) and features personalized support for every student.
Increase your impact on student learning. Our students gain field experiences that prepare them to be responsive and innovative educators.
