Deepens an understanding of mathematics while illustrating how to engage middle school students in meaningful learning experiences. Applicants with a wide range of professional experiences are encouraged to take this program and become fully licensed middle school math teachers.

The program encourages applicants with a wide range of professional experiences. Upon successful completion of all components of this program, students will be ready to be a licensed middle school math teacher.

In this program students will:
- Learn to plan assessment-informed math instruction for educational excellence and equity for all middle school children from diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic and ability backgrounds.
- Develop deep understanding of the diverse ways children learn math and develop within their families and communities and in schools; and gain skills to bring a relevant and engaging curriculum to your standards-based teaching.
- Gain the skills for effective middle school classroom organization and management.

Curriculum
To earn this 126 credit hour degree, students must satisfy all requirements in each of the three areas below. Students should declare their intent to pursue a Middle School Math license with their academic advisor as early as possible to avoid taking classes that do not count toward the degree or licensure.
