Statement on Sept. 22 Executive Order

For all of us, 2020 continues to be full of long-overdue changes and unexpected challenges that impact our everyday lives. As we all learn to adapt and change, it is important that we not lose sight of the value and opportunity that a college education provides. From meeting others who are different than our families of origin, to learning new ideas, the university strives to create an environment that provides room to grow and change. I continue to be impressed by our students and the lengths to which our staff and faculty support and educate them. I’m grateful to our entire community for enduring and shining during this difficult time.

CU Denver concurs with the University of Colorado system’s statement in response to the federal Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping issued on Sept. 22, 2020. The order is not clear about how it impacts universities and we anticipate there will be challenges to it in the coming days.
