Graduate Education Working Group

In March 2025, CU Denver hosted consultants from the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) to review and make recommendations to enhance our governance, structure, and administration of graduate education.

Based on perspectives from more than 130 CU Denver graduate education stakeholders, CGS delivered an April report with 35 recommendations in four categories.

  • Organization and administration of graduate education
  • Competitive funding of graduate students
  • Professional development and support services
  • Best practices for enrollment management

In June, a special assistant to the provost was appointed, as well as three graduate education faculty fellows. These individuals worked in summer 2025 to develop a plan for a faculty-led working group to convene in the 2025-26 academic year.
