The new Colorado accessibility law, HB21-1110, affects university websites and went into effect July 1, 2024. This means that university website owners/content managers must ensure your website content meets the minimum web accessibility standards.

Website goals

Answer these questions to start uncovering your website goals

  • Think about your site users. What are they trying to accomplish when they are using your website? Be specific, list the top 3 things users are trying to do.
  • What are your organization’s top 3 goals for this site?

Audiences

Answer these questions to start identifying your primary audiences

  • Think about who will visit your website and identify 2 main user groups (you can add a third if needed). Please differentiate between primary and secondary users. For example, the main user group might be Students, followed by a secondary Faculty user.
  • What issues have users reported when using your website? List anything they have had a hard time finding, if they’ve reported being confused by a certain page, etc.
