Dear Campus Colleague,

We write to you as co-chairs of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Digital Strategy and Learning search with a progress-report and invitation for participation.  This final month of the Spring term brings a spike of activity for our committee, culminating with virtual campus visits from the finalists.

The primary responsibility of this new position is to bring us together around digital strategies that differentiate CU Denver both in terms of pedagogy as well as strategic development.  This position will liaison across the digital education ecosystem; on campus, across the system, and with all vested parties.  In consulting with faculty, Chancellor Marks heard loud and clear that this position needs to embrace critical digital pedagogy, inclusive pedagogies, and data-ethics. We need a pedagogue as well as a business strategist.  Chancellor Marks welcomed position revisions, resulting in the final leadership profile.

Subsequently, our aim has been to complete recruitment, review, and selection of this position by the end of the Spring term. This will synchronize the new individual with campus strategic planning, preparation for Fall 21, and most significantly – prioritizing digital education with and for CU Denver.  There is no doubt that digital will shape our future and allows us to get to work.

The committee is working extended hours and at an extended pace to ensure we capture your feedback on our finalists.  We anticipate finalist announcements and virtual campus forums May 17-20, the week after final exams.  The timing is tough, but we genuinely need your input on filling this key position as we close out the term.

Please plan to join these upcoming forums as your feedback is important.  We will have times and registration links at this website on Friday, May 13.
