Partnering with Schools and Communities

Knowledge at Work

At CU Denver’s School of Education & Human Development, we have a vibrant community of faculty, students and alumni who are committed to engaging and collaborating with our metro Denver community, Colorado, the nation and the world, with hundreds of high-impact projects and engagements.

We engage in partnerships with school districts, state agencies, national agencies, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, community agencies, mental health clinics and more. Whether we are placing teacher candidates in schools for their yearlong residencies, working with districts on ways to enhance teacher performance, providing counseling and school psychology support for youth and families, or participating in key policy committees on school reform and accountability, our direct involvement in diverse schools and communities is an important part of our students’ experiences and an important way that we contribute to the local and global communities that we serve.

Through the Continuing and Professional Education arm of our school, we offer a broad range of leadership and professional development opportunities for educators and leaders to expand their skills and share innovative practices. Our certificates can be stand-alone accomplishments or can be applied to one of our many degree programs. We collaborate regularly with school districts to design and provide a customized program to meet their specific interests and needs.
