We are proud to announce that we are one of only two graduate schools of education in Colorado to receive the 2016 Best Graduate Schools ranking by U.S. News and World Report. Classes are provided online, face to face and in hybrid formats, a mixture of on-campus and online.
This year, U.S. News & World Report ranked us in the top 40 schools in the nation for online education programs. The magazine especially commended us for our online programs in early childhood education and information and learning technologies.
Gold Standard Preparation for New Teachers
Our alumni earn the highest average base salary when compared to graduates of other teacher education programs in Colorado. CU Denver partners with a network of local and regional schools, five school districts and community organizations to offer real-world teaching experience in diverse communities. These strong, ongoing relationships with schools and community organizations provide our students with considerable mentoring, support, practice and confidence. Students engage in field experiences from the very first year in the program. Our graduates are among the most prepared in the nation to support students with diverse languages, cultures and abilities in the classroom. Over 900 hours of classroom experience provide our education students with skills and experiences that far exceed the average training received by first-year teachers, strengthening their ability to impact student growth and achievement. Many schools around the county look to us for advice on “full residency” model experiences because our partnerships are decades-long. The longevity of our partnerships impacts the quality of our intensive, well-supported internships and residencies for students.
