Oral disease, although nearly 100 percent preventable, affects children’s general heath every day. This in turn affects their success and well‐being in the classroom. This P-20 Speaker Series highlights the Oral Health Unit at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Denver Children’s Oral Health Partnership which aims to improve oral health through a culturally competent, cost‐effective intervention focused on education, prevention, and treatment of dental disease among American Indian children and those from economically‐disadvantaged families.
