Vassar Elementary School is new to the UC Denver partnership and very committed to creating rich opportunities for teacher candidates. Candidates will experience, first hand, the daily joys that come when we help students embrace learning. Teacher candidates are mentored by our welcoming staff of master teachers. As a teacher candidate at Vassar, you experience the joys of sharing knowledge from your mentors, your university course work and the knowledge you bring. When this sharing takes place, collegiality sets in and each day becomes an exciting endeavor.

Being a UC Denver professional development school plays a significant role in helping our faculty achieve the Vassar Vision. Our vision is to create a self renewing school that responds to the Vassar community and the educational challenges of the 21st century.

Vassar is the home to 560 K through 5th grade students along with an Autism and Affective Needs program. There are 64 teachers and dedicated staff to help make the building a safe and warm home for learning. Vassar has been a part of the Aurora community since 1979 and started as a partner school with UCD in Fall of 2008.
