Located roughly 7 miles north of the Auraria campus, Northglenn High School was established in 1965 and boasts a long tradition of academic and athletic excellence. Demographic and district boundary shifts have changed our student population from one closely mirroring national college preparatory institutions to one that now more closely mirrors many of America's urban schools. Our enrollment is typically between 1800 and 2000 students.

NHS remains one of the first schools to enter into a teacher education partnership with School of Education & Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver. 2009 will be our 16th year of partnership, and over the years, many ancillary professional development programs have developed from the relationship between the two institutions. Many of our teachers are UC Denver graduates, and many more are outstanding mentors for our teacher candidates.

Our staff is strong and caring, and we much appreciate the great kids who continue to come to our school each year. We welcome teacher candidates gratefully, because we recognize the importance of what we do day-in-and-day-out and the importance of nurturing new generations of educators.
