The Research Center provides a variety of services to faculty to support their research and grant-writing initiatives. Below is a list with brief descriptions of the services we provide. Although the list below outlines general service options, unique requests are accommodated whenever possible.
- Literature Searches
We are happy to collect and provide you with sources that relate to your specific area of research. All literature searches will include an annotated bibliography. If you would like to request a lit search, please fill out the Faculty Lit Search Questionnaire and send it to the RC with your project request. Additionally, if you need items from the Auraria Library, please fill out an Assistant Check-Out Authorization Form and send it to us with a copy of your faculty I.D.
- Resource Loan
We have a variety of sources on research design and methodology, statistical analysis, educational measurement, etc. that we are happy to lend. We also have both hard copies and online access to Cabell’s publication directories (Educational Psychology and Administration and Educational Curriculum and Methods) and a copy of the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Please stop by the Research Center during office hours to brows our collection.
- Support Data Entry
- Data Analysis
Faculty who wish to request transcription services from the Research Center should be aware of the intense nature of providing this service. Generally speaking, for every one hour of audio taping, it requires a graduate assistant to spend five hours of transcribing; assuming that the audio tapes are of high quality. In consideration of the resources of the Research Center, transcription projects are accepted on a case-by-case basis upon reviewing your audio files. Transcription will only be provided for faculty who do not have grant funds to conduct such an activity. For those faculty who do have grant funds at their disposal, the Research Center will transcribe no more than five hours of audio per academic year; we will be happy to refer you to external, professional transcribers for the remainder of your needs. We accept digital audio and video files only. Poor quality audio files will NOT be accepted for transcription. Therefore, when recording, we suggest that you play back the first five minutes of your recordings to ensure good quality and make sure that all participants can be heard clearly. Additionally, please try to eliminate potentially distracting noises that may occur in close proximity to the recording device, including eating and side conversations
- Manuscript Editing
We will help you with APA (6th ed.) formatting, conventions, and suggestions on word choice and organization. Although we do not have the resources to provide professional editing service, we will assist you in finding one in cases where a project requires it (e.g., editing a book).
- Curriculum Vitae Reformatting
We provide this service to all new faculty. If you would prefer to reformat your own vita, here is the SEHD vita template.
- Consultations with Faculty Research Associate
Dr. Maria Araceli Ruiz-Primo is available by appointment for personal assistance at diverse stages of research. For example, reviewing paper, selecting research designs, drafting grant proposals, developing quality assessment instruments, conducting psychometric evaluation of instruments already developed.
Please contact the Center at 303-315-4969 or firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about a service that is not included above.
