Please note that
these FAQs are for all of our programs. Each
program has unique application requirements; therefore, some of the following
questions may be not applicable to your particular program of interest.
I
am having an issue with saving, uploading documents, or another technical
problem with my online application, who can I contact for assistance with this?
For all
technical related issues pertaining to the online application, please contact
Krystal Allen, krystal.allen@ucdenver.edu.
My
recommender has not received the link for the online recommendation. Could you
resend it?
Please email
Krystal Allen to have the recommendation link resent. Krystal.allen@ucdenver.edu.
I
have submitted my application online. Could you confirm that you have received
my transcripts, GRE/MAT* scores and recommendations**?
Due to the
large volume of applications we receive, it is difficult to individually
confirm receipt of items and the application.
Our normal application processing protocol is to email applicants within
one-two weeks of the application deadline confirming receipt of materials. At
that time, we will let you know if any application items are missing.
*It can take
our office up to 21 days to receive GRE/MAT scores. Therefore, it is highly advisable to take the
exam approximately a month before the application deadline.
**Please
note that your recommenders do not receive the link to submit your
recommendation until you have submitted your application. Therefore, we strongly suggest submitting
your application early to allow recommenders sufficient time to complete the form
by the application deadline.
Additional
Information on fingerprinting:
·
First
and foremost, please follow the instructions on the fingerprint affidavit
carefully. These instructions are located within the online application. Most questions or concerns are addressed on
the affidavit.
·
The
School of Education & Human Development as well as the Colorado Department
of Education do not provide fingerprint
cards. It is advised that you call your
local police station prior to going to get your fingerprints taken to see what
days and times they perform this service for the public. Additionally, you will want to confirm that
they provide the actual fingerprint cards.
Where most police stations do provide cards, we have had reports that
some locations do not have them readily available. You may need to call another local police
station if the one closest to you does not provide cards. If you are an out of state applicant, please
follow this same process.
·
We
cannot accept previous background checks by other entities/states/departments
in lieu of this process. We need to see
that your prints are specifically on file with the Colorado Department of
Education. If you believe they are, you may
confirm this by going to: https://edx.cde.state.co.us/PublicEducatorSearch/DOBSearch.jsp.
Use your Social Security number
and date of birth to confirm that your fingerprint requirement has been met by
Colorado Department of Education. Once CDE has received satisfactory
fingerprint results from Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the top of the page
will display “Fingerprint Requirement: Met.”
·
Upon
signing the fingerprint affidavit, you are stating that you have indeed had
your fingerprints taken and have mailed them to the Colorado Bureau of
Investigation for processing. You are
also acknowledging that you understand you must work directly with CBI for any
issues that may arise with your prints. In other words, we do not necessarily
need to see that the results of the CBI processing have been sent to CDE by the
deadline. We are simply verifying that
you have initiated the process by mailing your prints to CBI.
