School Library Endorsement

Are you interested in entering the school library profession? Do you want to explore what the information age REALLY means? Welcome to CU Denver and the #1 School Library program in Colorado. Our school library endorsement is designed to help you learn the knowledge-management skills and information access points needed to advance your career goals.

You'll complete 11 graduate-level classes online for a total of 28 credit hours. You may mix and match on campus and online courses, or you may complete the endorsement totally online.

Your courses will integrate Information and Learning Technology strategies through coursework in school library management, collection development, collaborative planning, instructional design, and instructional leadership. As a nationally recognized NCATE - AASL* approved School Library Education Program, students complete field experience in both elementary and secondary schools for the K-12 school library endorsement.

To complete the School Library program, you will need regular access to a computer with a high-speed internet connection, either at home or a convenient work location. Faculty, staff and students are required to use e-mail; and, web-based applications like eCollege are used to complete work in all courses.
