Registering for Dissertation Credit

Register for dissertation credit using a Special Processing form, available for download at the Registrar's Office Forms site . Complete this form with your faculty advisor and submit it to Diccon Conant in the Student Services Center (see contact information below) for dean's approval and processing.

Use these guidelines and templates to make sure your dissertation is organized and formatted according to Graduate School requirements.

Doctoral Forms

As you progress through the EDLI program, you must complete and submit a number of the following forms.

Forms for Requesting Comprehensive Review/Exam and the Oral Dissertation Defense

The following materials may be downloaded from the Graduate School Forms site:

  • Request for Graduate Examination/Thesis Defense (with three committee members listed) and Application for Admission to Candidacy, due at least two weeks before the comprehensive review/exam.
  • Request for Graduate Examination/Thesis Defense (with four committee members, including one external to the School of Education & Human Development, listed) and Ph.D. Announcement, due at least two weeks prior to the oral dissertation defense.

Once completed, all of the above forms should be submitted to:
