Digital Storytelling Certificate

The Digital Storytelling certificate is specifically designed to help individuals and organizations bridge the meaning gap to students, trainees, clients and others by utilizing personal narrative within a technological context. This is the only university certificate program whose curriculum is co-authored and co-taught in conjunction with The Center for Digital Storytelling (CDS).

Our approach emphasizes personal voice and facilitative teaching methods. Today's younger generation is looking for ways to show their interests, connect to the world, and communicate with peers. Through these highly interactive workshops, you will create, produce, and use digital stories to enhance your work effectiveness in education, non-profit and/or business environments. You will also learn to lead others in digital story use within your organization.

The certificate consists of four courses, totaling ten credit hours, and may be earned in one year. Credits from INTE 5340 may be applied as an elective toward a UC Denver master’s degree in Information and Learning Technologies.  INTE 5330 (CDS Standard or Educator workshop) should be taken first and INTE 5340 should be taken before INTE 5345.  INTE 5350 (CDS Facilitator in Training workshop ) can be taken any time after INTE 5330 is completed.

Face-to-face workshops (INTE 5330 and 5350) are offered world-wide. Current schedule and locations for INTE 5330: Digital Storytelling Workshop may be found here for the Standard Workshop or here for the Educator Workshop. Schedules and locations for INTE 5350: Leadership for Digital Storytelling may be found herePlease contact Daniel Weinshenker at daniel@storycenter.org with any questions about workshop content.
