Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate - Additional Details

Please note that space is limited and our program works on rolling admission. Registration will be completed on a first come, first serve basis among students who meet the registration criteria for their respective programs.Please send your resume outlining your education and professional experience, and a 1-page letter of intent to the Office of Continuing and Professional Education at cpe@ucdenver.edu. In your letter, please outline the reasons why you would like to pursue the BCBA® or BCaBA® certification.

Spring Cohort Application Information:

  • Applications accepted until October 15th as long as space is still available
  • Applicants will be notified of admission decision by November 1st

Summer Cohort Application Information:

  • Applications accepted until April 15th as along as space is still available
Applicants will be notified of admission decision by May 1st

BCBA® interested students must either hold, or be in the process of completing, a master’s degree in education, psychology or behavior analysis. BCaBA® interested students must either hold, or be in the process of completing, a bachelor’s degree in any field of study. If your degree is not in one of the approved fields of study, students will need to request a degree preliminary evaluation by the BACB. CU Denver will need to have proof of degree approval from the BACB before you will be approved to pursue the BCBA coursework.

Please note that in order to apply for the BCBA® Examination or BCaBA® Examination you will need to have COMPLETED:

Required Supervised Experience

Students must complete 1500 (BCBA) or 1000 (BCaBA) hours of supervised experience in order to take the examination.  Information on supervised experience can be found on the BACB website. Our program does not assist with providing supervision nor finding supervisors for the experience component of the BCBA or BCaBA certification.

BACB Examination

The BACB examinations​ will be offered during “testing windows” of approximately one month's duration three times per calendar year. The examination will be available only during these testing windows.
