Employee of the Month

Staff Council chooses Daniel Kerley as Employee of the Month for September 2013

Congratulations to Daniel Kerley!

Daniel Kerley is the shining star and winner of the August 2013 Classified Employee of the Month Award.

Daniel is a Physical Science Researcher/Scientist II for the Department of Environmental Health and Safety on the Anschutz Medical Campus, and has worked for the University since 1993.

Nancy Hostetler, Safety, Regulatory and Training Specialist for Facilities Management on the AMC Campus, says of Daniel, “his level of concern and involvement goes above and beyond the ordinary.  The words I use to describe Dan include conscientious, honest, hardworking, and dedicated.  He is a gentleman with integrity and humor.  He exemplifies the meaning of a professional industrial hygienist.  Daniel also served as a Captain in the United States Army and has also done a tour of duty in Afghanistan and a tour of duty in Iraq.”

Riad Safadi, Associate Director of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety states that, “Dan has made a significant impact on improving the health and safety of researchers, staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the University of Denver campuses.  He has developed and implemented many significant programs pertaining to Air Quality and general safety.  These programs had a positive impact on the entire campus population.  He works tirelessly to ensure everyone is safe.  As a member of the active reserves, Dan served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.  He also volunteers his time to speak at his daughter and wife’s schools.”

I speak for the University and for all of us in the United States, when I say thank you for your service both at home and abroad.  Congratulations Daniel!
