MA, Curriculum and Instruction Concentration: Elementary Math Education

At CU Denver, we recognize the urgent need for outstanding elementary math teachers in this country. And, we're all about preparing the finest! If you're a licensed practicing teacher with a passion for interactive math education, our classes will prepare you for a purposeful career.

We've designed the program to be convenient for current teachers. For example, courses are offered online, in the evenings, and weekend formats. Course assignments are relevant to the work of practicing teachers and can be completed in teachers' own classrooms.

Our faculty is top-notch. They will put you in touch with the latest theories, experiential math learning activities, and innovative teaching strategies.

We welcome applications from elementary teachers who have a strong interest in bringing hands-on math learning to their students. We also accept applications from middle and high school teachers who would like to add an elementary endorsement with a strong math focus.

Classes are scheduled to fit around your professional hours.

We recommend that working teachers take no more than one course per semester during the school year, and up to two courses in the summer. In general, you should not take more than two courses in any given semester.
