The scholars’ work abroad has allowed them to return to our university to influence the internationalization of the curriculum. Additionally, they serve as role models, encouraging students to participate in global education and engage in international careers and they also encourage their faculty colleagues to pursue international research and teaching. Their efforts are an enduring contribution to the university's reputation as a globally engaged institution.

Alongside our esteemed Fulbright Scholars, we applaud the remarkable achievements of the CU Anschutz students who have been awarded grants through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The Fulbright student program offers unique opportunities for students to explore graduate or professional study, advanced research, or English teaching in more than 140 countries. As examples, an outstanding CU Anschutz student was awarded a Fulbright to study and conduct research relevant to midwifery, nursing, and public health in Ecuador, and another student was granted an award to study environmental health sciences in Mexico.

We have seen the importance of faculty in a student’s decision to apply for a Fulbright U.S. Student Program. As respected mentors and guides, faculty members’ encouragement and support make a meaningful difference to our students as they pursue new learning opportunities.

At the University of Colorado Denver, we are fortunate to celebrate our Fulbright Scholars and Student Fellows who continue to energize the university's international activities. We look forward to welcoming more of our faculty and student body into this distinguished circle in the years ahead.
