Lecture Overview

Time is money.  The global payments industry is becoming more important as we move away from cash to digital payment options.  Digital payments offer businesses and consumers distinct advantages such as speed, mobility and global reach.  But, what are the new and emerging uses-cases within digital payments and the corresponding challenges faced both domestically and internationally?  Join this discussion to learn about the latest digital payment applications at Visa and how they implement and monitor instant payment transactions to improve approval rates and cardholder experience throughout North America and Latin America.

Stacey Espinosa

Stacey Espinosa is a Senior Director at Visa who leads the data and analytics strategy for Visa Direct in North America and Latin America.  Visa Direct is Visa’s instant payments service and fastest growing product.  Her focus is two-fold, bridging the gap between the business and technical worlds, and using data and analytics to optimize Visa Direct’s approval rates for cardholders worldwide.  She earned a BS in Communications and an MBA both from Florida State University and will complete her MS in Applied Analytics from Columbia University in May 2020.  She lives in Denver with her husband Allen who is a recent MSIB graduate from CU Denver.

International Executive Roundtables

International Executive Roundtables are hosted by CU Denver’s Institute for International Business (IIB) and Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) with support from the late Burton Charles Boothby and the St. Charles Investment Company, and the Carole Ann Jemal-Gibson and Greg Gibson Fund.
