Mary Ann has a passion for finding new and creative ways of harnessing the power of story. Most of her work has been with museums, libraries, higher education, and public health, and often centers on working with community through story. She values spaces for learning, connection, inclusion, and empathy building, and her passion lies in listening deeply and helping people uncover new insights based on their lived experience. Mary Ann spent many years as a museum educator at History Colorado before joiningStoryCenter’s Denver office in 2008. She curated and designed museum exhibits, specializing in interactive components including touch-screen programs and the use of digital stories in exhibit galleries. For Mary Ann, historical photographs and family snapshots provide a fascinating window into the lives and stories of people across time. She was the photo editor on the book I Looked in the Brook and Saw a Face, by David N. Wetzel.
