Ken Stern

Ken Stern is the founder and chair of the Longevity Project, which fosters public conversation and research on the impact of longer lives on civil society, and the host of the award-winning Century Lives podcast from the Stanford Center on Longevity. He is the author of Healthy to 100: How Strong Social Ties Lead to Long Lives (Hatchette, 2025), as well as the national bestsellers Republican Like Me (HarperCollins, 2017) and With Charity for All (Doubleday, 2013), and a frequent contributor to publications including Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, and The Washington Post. Stern is also CEO of Palisades Media Ventures, a Washington, DC–based thought leadership company. Previously, he served as CEO of National Public Radio, where he oversaw a period of dramatic growth in audience, journalism, and digital innovation.
