Barbara Hancin

Barbara is retired from a 35+ year career in higher education, teaching, researching, serving in administration and supporting undergraduate students' education and development. Her areas of specialization were linguistics, second language learning-teaching, global studies and fostering intercultural understanding. Drawing on this background, she now dedicates her time to youth and community wellbeing projects, including Braver Angels, in which she serves as co-lead for its Ambassador Program, as well other volunteer projects in Park County, Colorado. In her Braver Angels role, Barbara is passionate about depolarizing communities, finding common ground, and supporting citizen-led solutions through dialogue and collaboration. In her free time, you will find Barbara on hiking trails, in the yoga studio, and enjoying her precious family.
