Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to be one of the most impactful technologies many of us will see in our lifetime. The changes AI has already brought about have created efficiencies, challenges, and questions that will impact our lives and work. As CU Denver embarks on evaluating the possibilities of AI, it is important to look to our values to ground our inquiry and guide future conversations.
To begin identifying ways to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into our institution, we convened three working groups in Spring 2025 to focus on three discrete areas: Teaching and Learning, Research, and Administration and Operations. Each working group conducted a SWOT analysis of AI's actual and potential application in specific institutional areas, summarized key use cases for AI, and made policy recommendations (a summary of which is linked below). Working group reports and executive summaries are published on individual webpages for each group.
In early 2026, in alignment with activity on AI at the CU System level, progress will be made on implementing recommendations.
