The Ombuds Office is a confidential resource that members of the CU Denver community can approach to discuss, voice, and clarify any university-related concerns. The Ombuds is a neutral third party who is available to hear individual complaints and help sort out and identify options for resolving those concerns. Topics that are often raised with the Ombuds include disagreements and other conflict- related issues, such as working conditions, supervisory concerns, interpersonal interactions, grades, policies and procedures, sexual harassment, discrimination, and disciplinary actions.
The Ombuds may assist visitors with coaching on how to approach or navigate a difficult conversation or situation.
The Ombuds may agree to act as a neutral third party in a discussion or informal mediation between two individuals. The Ombuds will decide whether this would be an appropriate step after confidential and voluntary meetings with the individuals involved.
