CU Denver Goes Underground

Many of the artists participating in the Underground Music Showcase are alumni of CU Denver’s Music & Entertainment Industry Studies program, while an intricate collaboration between CU Denver and Youth on Record has helped Denver’s music scene grow into what it is today. Since 2022, UMS has been co-owned by the Denver nonprofit Youth on Record, Co-founded by CU Denver faculty member and alum Andy Guerrero '07 .

Leveling the Playing Field in Corporate America

CU Denver’s Business School introduced Empowering Women in Business (EWiB) last fall to equip students with the distinct tools they need to navigate the workforce and successfully pursue leadership roles in their careers. Now in its second semester, EWiB has served as an incredible beacon of inspiration that acknowledges often overlooked issues regarding the playing field between men and women in the workplace.

They will delve into the strategic integration of cultural credibility into business models and share their experiences and practical approaches for leveraging cultural insights to enhance brand identity, product development and market reach.

Introducing the Thrive Series brought to you by the Center for Community Safety and Resilience at the CU Denver School of Public Affairs. The Thrive Series are conversations with academic and lived experience experts and members of the community. Discussions will focus on issues related to criminal and social justice, public safety, individual and societal violence, and community resilience. This series will utilize a variety of formats, including panel discussions, debates, and guest speakers, and will conclude with public discourse, welcoming learners of all levels to engage and cultivate a healthier and more prosperous community.
