With Gratitude and Warm Wishes for the Holidays

Season’s Greetings from Chancellor Dorothy Horrell, 2019

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the holiday season has officially begun.

It’s customary this time of year to count our blessings, and this holiday message has special significance for me as it will be my final one as CU Denver’s chancellor.  It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve this university, and by extension, the city we call home.

Over the last four years, I’ve come to know – and love – CU Denver, our mission as Colorado’s public urban research university, and the students, faculty, and staff who bring that to life every day.  And, I’ve had the great pleasure and privilege to work closely with business and community leaders, donors and alumni whose partnership and support are integral to our success.

To each of you, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.  I will always feel extraordinarily blessed to have done work I love, with people I admire and respect.

Building on its strong history, I believe CU Denver has a very promising future.  We are at the heart of a vibrant city that needs what we provide -- new knowledge, insightful thought leadership, and a talent pipeline that reflects our changing demographics.  I thank you for playing such a valued and essential part in our ability to deliver on that promise.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a new year filled with hope, peace, and goodwill toward all.
