Tomback and McKinney present paper to Ecological Society

Diana F. Tomback, professor of integrative biology, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Shawn T. McKinney, alumni master's student in integrative biology, presented at the annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America, Aug. 4-9 in Minneapolis, Minn. Their paper was titled “Invasive pathogen trumps natural selection, threatening evolutionary rescue.”
 
McKinney began his studies of whitebark pine while working with Tomback at CU Denver, and he received his Ph.D. at the University of Montana with Tomback on his doctoral committee. He has worked for the National Park Service and is now with U.S. Geological Survey based at the University of Maine, Orono.
 
McKinney and Tomback have co-authored 3 peer-reviewed papers and a book chapter.
